Dr. Leila Keyvani is a Persian-Canadian gastroenterologist with nearly two decades of experience in clinical practice and teaching.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and completed her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Manitoba, earning certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both disciplines. She went on to complete an Advanced IBD Fellowship at McMaster University and holds full Intestinal Ultrasound certification through the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS).
Dr. Keyvani is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, actively involved in medical education. She received the UBC Department of Medicine Honour Roll for Clinical Teaching Excellence in 2021. She is committed to providing patient-centered gastroenterology care with a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
She is fluent in Farsi (Persian).
