Wound care clinic services to help patients heal faster and more comfortably

The Wound Care clinic at Schroeder Ambulatory Centre helps people suffering from complex, non-healing wounds by addressing the underlying medical and functional reasons that affect the healing process. Our compassionate interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and patient support staff—led by Dr. Carol Ott—work together to provide efficient and effective relief for stubborn wounds, including prevention of recurrence, where standard approaches have failed.

Because our Wound Care clinic is located on the same floor as our other primary care and specialized clinics, moving between these other clinics for supportive care is simple and easy—even when the patient is experiencing mobility issues. Our pain management clinic, neurology clinic, geriatrics clinic and others are just a few steps away and share the same patient services team—ensuring a seamless experience for both patients and caregivers.

Important information for Wound Care clinic patients

At your visit to the Wound Care Clinic, you will be asked to provide a detailed history of your wound, including when it started, how it has changed over time, and any treatments you have tried. We will also review your medical history, including chronic conditions like diabetes, vascular disease, or mobility issues, and any medications you are taking that could affect healing. Information about previous tests—such as blood work, imaging, or vascular studies—will help guide your care.

When you arrive at the Centre, you will check in with our patient support team on the 5th floor (L5). All of our clinics are also located on the 5th floor (L5), and are fully accessible by elevators located both near the main entrance and where you enter from the parking garage.

Our friendly patient support staff are happy to help with any mobility issues you may have, or just to help you find your way around. If you need any additional support, please mention so when you book your appointment or when you check in at the desk!
