Schroeder Ambulatory Centre (SAC) is helping improve access to adult outpatient neurology care in Richmond Hill through a comprehensive Neurology program comprising expert neurology subspecialists. The program brings together neurological assessment, diagnostic testing and coordinated access to onsite specialty services.
The Neurology clinic provides care for adult patients over 18, with pediatric referrals accepted only for headache, concussion and epilepsy. Services include comprehensive neurological evaluations, medical treatment, EMG and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS), lifestyle counselling and wellness planning, with coordinated access to MRI, CT, ultrasound, surgical services and other specialties available at the Centre. Pain Management services are coming soon.
“Our goal is to provide timely, comprehensive neurological care in a community-based setting,” said Dr. Hamza Jalal, Neurology Program Lead at Schroeder Ambulatory Centre. “By bringing together neurological assessment, diagnostic testing and access to other onsite specialties, we’re able to provide patients with more connected, coordinated care.”

One of the benefits of receiving care at Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is the ability to access multiple healthcare services in one location. Patients who require diagnostic imaging or additional specialty consultation can benefit from a coordinated model of care that supports continuity throughout their healthcare journey.
Pain Management is coming soon to Schroeder Ambulatory Centre. Once available, the program will provide access to treatments such as Botox injections and nerve blocks when appropriate.
“One of the advantages of practising at Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is the ability to work alongside other specialties,” said Dr. Jalal. “That collaboration helps us provide a more seamless experience for patients who require additional testing or follow-up care.”

The clinic accepts referrals from physicians and nurse practitioners through the OCEAN Referral Network, as well as by fax, phone and email. Each referral is reviewed by the clinical team, and patients are contacted to coordinate next steps.
“Quality referrals help us provide the right care for the right patients,” said Dr. Jalal. “Working closely with referring providers allows us to ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate neurological services and receive timely access to assessment and treatment.”
