Dr. Victor Mak is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urologic Surgery. He holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto and is recognized as a Clinician Investigator by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Mak is among a select group of urologists in Canada who have completed formal postgraduate subspecialty fellowship training in male reproductive medicine, infertility, andrology, sexual function, and genitourinary microsurgery.
Dr. Mak has published extensively in leading international journals spanning both basic science and clinical research. He previously held positions as Assistant Professor and Surgeon-Scientist in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery, at the University of Toronto. He serves on the Canadian Urological Association (CUA) Guidelines Committee for the investigation and management of azoospermic males and has been designated by both the CUA and the Canadian Urologic Oncology Group as a Prostate Cancer Leader.
Dr. Mak was the former Chair of the Multidisciplinary Cancer Conference Disease Site in Uro-oncology and Chair of the LASER Committee. From 2007 to 2017, he served as Chief of Urology within the Department of Surgery at Mackenzie Health and was the Cancer Care Ontario Prostate Champion for the Central Local Health Integration Network. He also serves as the Consultant Urologist at the Mon Sheong Long Term Care Facility in Richmond Hill.
In July 2016, Dr. Mak led a surgical team on a medical mission to a remote village in Kenya, reflecting his commitment to global surgical outreach. He currently sits on the Editorial Board of The Bio Accent Journal of Urology and Nephrology.
