Dr. Evan Cole Lewis is a board-certified adult and pediatric neurologist, clinical neurophysiologist, and epileptologist with academic appointments at the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. He completed fellowship training in epilepsy at The Hospital for Sick Children and at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. His clinical practice focuses on epilepsy, concussion and persisting symptoms after concussion, brain injury, and Functional Neurological Disorder, particularly functional seizures.
He is recognized for diagnostic precision in complex presentations and for integrating neurological, cognitive, and psychiatric factors into individualized treatment strategies. In parallel with his clinical work, he conducts research in these areas and is committed to translating complex neuroscience into clear, patient-centered care.
Dr. Lewis has served as a co-investigator and steering committee member on clinical trials in medical cannabis for drug-resistant epilepsy and chronic headache. He regularly presents at national and international conferences and has published on functional seizures and novel interventional approaches in neurology. He is the author of a comprehensive medical cannabis dosing textbook for clinicians, synthesizing clinical trial evidence with real-world practice.
He is the founder of the Neurology Centre of Toronto (2016–2024) and previously served as Vice President of Psychedelic Neurology at Numinus (2021–2024). He founded and developed Homeward Therapy’s Psychedelic and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy program, where he serves part-time as Clinical Director. He also provides independent medical-legal assessments and leads the Medical-Legal Special Interest Group for the Functional Neurological Disorder Society.
